Dawn on Kartik Poornima

At daybreak, on Kartik Poornima, the last day of the Pushkar Mela 2014, scores of Hindu pilgrims gather on the ghats (steps) linking Pushkar’s over 400 temples to its lake, for a holy dip.

According to Hindu tradition, bathing in Pushkar Lake on this auspicious day purifies all sins, including those of the husband of any Hindu woman who bathes here on this day.
